Specialist Librarian (Band 6)

We are seeking a professionally qualified, experienced librarian to work alongside our highly skilled team, in the delivery of an exceptional knowledge and library service. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your information skills and professional knowledge, while helping to deliver a comprehensive information and library service to all our staff at Barts Health.
The successful candidate will be based primarily at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, where you will support the day-to-day provision of services to that site. As part of our library team, you will also support library services across the whole of Barts Health NHS Trust and will be expected to work across our other sites as required.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Knowledge Services you will be expected to deputise for them on your site when necessary. You will also contribute to the strategic development of the service at The Royal London while maintaining a quality outreach service that includes literature searching and information skills training.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent professional and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work unsupervised and the confidence to go out to talk (virtually and face to face) with trust staff at all levels of the organisation. You should have analytical skills. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload to meet the demands of the service.
This role would particularly suit an ambitious, experienced, health librarian who is keen to make their mark. Previous Band 6 post holders have gone on to further leadership roles within NHS libraries
