Job Description

We are leading the way in service standards and innovation and shaping the future of book and electronic content acquisition in the world of learning.

Due to new client contracts commencing in 2012, we require three Cataloguers (either experienced or trainee level) who will classify and prepare bibliographic records to support our Shelf Ready and Book Selection services for our library clients.

Working within our Company offices in Ringwood, you will join a team of Cataloguers responsible for sourcing electronic records (from library catalogues and other external databases), original cataloguing, and amending existing records to customer specifications.

As an experienced Cataloguer, you should have experience in either UKMARC or MARC21 and competency in classification in either Dewey Decimal Classification or LC Classification. Experience of allocating LC subject headings would also be an advantage.

As a Trainee Cataloguer, we would require some experience of working in the library industry and a basic understanding of classification and cataloguing schemes.
