Job Description

ASCEL is seeking a qualified librarian to support members by acting as information provider and disseminator for ASCEL members for all national information relating to children’s and schools’ library services. The successful post holder will ensure that all online and hard copy information sources relating to library services for children’s & young people, whether in the public or schools sector are read / scanned on a daily/weekly basis and any relevant information is précised and disseminated to all colleagues on the ASCEL mailing list. They will have detailed knowledge of the initiatives, relevant information sources and developments particularly relevant to library services to children in public, SLS and school library settings and have relevant knowledge of library services to children and young people, including detailed knowledge of organisational policies and practices associated with both the general operation of library services and the specialism.
