Job Description

Information Services Research & Learning Resources Division, Academic Services Section Faculty Team Leader: Social Sciences, Hallward Library £35,646 - £43,840 pa Salary can progress to £50,822 pa, subject to performance. Applications are invited for the above post within the Research and Learning Resources Division in Information Services at the University of Nottingham. This post encompasses the role of Faculty Team Librarian for the School of Law and is based at the Hallward Library, University Park Campus, Nottingham. The person appointed will report to the Head of Academic Services and be responsible for: • Providing specialist library services to the School of Law. • Undertaking subject and academic liaison duties for the Faculty of Social Sciences, including responsibility for academic services to the schools at the Jubilee campus namely the Nottingham University Business School and the School of Education. • Overseeing the provision of print and electronic resources to support the research and teaching needs of the Faculty of Social Sciences with particular responsibility for the requirements of the School of Law. • Managing a combined book and periodicals budget in the region of £0.75m. • Managing a team of staff based in the Hallward Library, and at the Jubilee Campus. • Overseeing the provision of information skills training and subject enquiry services for the Faculty of Social Sciences. • Actively participating in the Academic Services Development Team (consisting of four Faculty Team Leaders led by the Head of Academic Services) in order to facilitate management of, and communication within, the Academic Services Section. Candidates should be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and have a postgraduate or professional qualification relevant to the library profession. In addition, candidates should be familiar with using new technology to deliver services and have excellent interpersonal, managerial and communication skills. Experience in an academic law environment and membership of BIALL is desirable.
