Job Description

Right at the heart of London, the Tri Borough shared service comprising the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster City Council are known for their iconic sights and sounds. From theatre and shopping through to business and nightlife, there is always something going on. Our libraries and archives are no less active. We have over a million books, a wide range of electronic resources and a full programme of events and activities on offer to our diverse communities. We are committed to continual service improvement.

That is why we are looking for a proactive, engaging and organised manager, who embraces our core purpose of Read, Learn and Connect and will enhance our position as one of the country’s leading library services, through supporting the delivery of our ambitious business plan.

You will manage and motivate a small business support team who provide a range of administrative support to the service. Leading on business performance, you will transform our data collection to enable the high performance of our service. You will inspire continuous improvement and help us to become more outward looking by proactively researching good practice in libraries and other sectors, nationally and internationally.

A key aspect of this role will be producing high quality management reports for a wide group of stakeholders, including cabinet members. As well as being confident with collating, representing and explaining data, you will be an engaging communicator who will enjoy collaborating with a wide range of colleagues across different council departments. It is important that you are able to develop new approaches, while inspiring others to innovate and deliver outstanding results.

We offer a friendly, enthusiastic and inclusive working culture, flexible working, generous annual leave and the chance to really make the role your own.
