Systems Support (Libraries)

Job Description

You are an energetic and self-motivated qualified librarian with extensive experience of managing ICT systems in a library environment, or an ICT graduate with library experience. Not only have you extensive knowledge of library processes and systems and performance management requirements, with associated software experience, but you will be able to develop and implement ICT initiatives and identify impact on the service.

You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify needs and support staff across the service. The ability to document and record procedures and develop training materials is essential. Experience of Talis library management system, Business Objects Xi, SQL, HTML would be an advantage, as would professional chartership and knowledge of cataloguing processes.

With your team members you will jointly manage, implement and support library systems and with senior managers develop and implement strategies for ICT across the service. Managing and identifying performance and reporting data is intrinsic to the post.
