Job Description

The Society is the premier Family History Research Library and Education Centre in the UK and currently offers the following job opportunity:

HEAD OF LIBRARY SERVICES

An enthusiastic qualified individual is required to head our specialist Library and Archive. We are a small team and this is a hands on role, which will include counter duties etc. The individual will preferably have experience to move forward our active digitisation project of the archive content. As well as managing staff there will be a volunteer team to lead and supervise. Up-to date IT skills will be essential for the role as is an excellent level of communication.

Essential skills also needed are a Library or Archive qualification. Current knowledge of best practice in managing and caring for book collections and conservation in archives would be
advantageous as would knowledge of Family History.

This full-time role will include Saturday working.

Salary scale: £24,000 - £30,000 pa
