We are seeking to appoint a Senior Assistant Librarian with a focus on Research Data Management to work as part of a small team, supporting the Research Support Librarian in all aspects of their work, but particularly in relation to Open Access and Research Data Management (RDM).

The role will include developing and managing the Library’s response to Open Access issues especially those relating to RDM. The role will involve advocating and promoting the management of research data to all levels across the University and working with Research and Knowledge Exchange who manage the University’s Research Information System, Symplectic Elements. You will be expected to establish effective communication channels with researchers and be a point of contact for all Library related Open Access issues.

You will have a good understanding of the current scholarly environment in the context of Higher Education, in particular the Open Access agenda. They will have excellent communication skills and a keenness to provide help and support to library colleagues as well as researchers and academic staff. You should have experience of working with digital systems in a research related role and a proven ability to contribute to strategic service development.

This is a full-time post working 35 hours each week however we will welcome applications from candidates interested in a job-share.
