Job Description

Sedgehill is a large secondary school with some 1700 students including a 6th form. We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic candidate with an appropriate librarianship qualification to further develop our well used Learning Resources Centre (LRC). You will manage all aspects of the LRC, developing policies and practices to ensure that it supports the aims and ethos of our school. You will take an active role in developing a reading culture within the school and implement strategies to support the curriculum and the diverse needs of our users. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to relate well to young inner city students. You will be self-motivated, with an awareness of current national and local priorities, of ICT and its role in the LRC. You will also have experience of managing and motivating staff, coordinating their work and identifying targets to meet service delivery. All appointments are subject to an enhanced CRB check.
