Salary: £28,000 plus benefits

Status: Permanent post, full-time (35 hours per week 9am – 5pm, Mon-Fri, excluding public holidays)

The Institute of Directors has been supporting business leaders worldwide for over 100 years and provides them with world class business information and advice. Our Information and Advisory Service (IAS) team responds to over 17,000 enquiries a year. It provides a crucial membership benefit, enjoys a high profile among both IoD members and staff, and aids member recruitment and retention.

The role: We are looking for a Business Information Officer to join our experienced team of researchers in the Business Information Service. The primary focus of this important and varied role is to provide timely research by answering telephone, e-mail and in-person enquiries (up to 90% of duties) on a vast range of topics. Reporting to the Content Team Leader, you will also contribute to the development and maintenance of our online content for members.

The person: You must be a qualified and experienced information professional with strong research and customer service skills combined with solid knowledge of business information sources. You should have experience of developing and maintaining online content, together with strong IT skills (previous experience of using Content Management Systems would be an advantage). You must be committed to providing an excellent customer-focused service. You should have a can-do attitude, good interpersonal skills and be confident at dealing with individuals at all levels (previous experience of working with senior managers or directors would be an advantage). You must have good time management skills and be able to work to deadlines and multi-task. You should have a professional telephone manner and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
