The Role – Knowledge Manager

  • This is a position of key importance within Carnall Farrar providing excellent knowledge management guidance and experience to the consulting teams. Working as part of the corporate team you will support our senior leadership team with their internal knowledge sharing and their client facing responsibilities.
  • This is a busy and interesting role requiring the ability to be proactive, self sufficient and flexible. We are looking for an excellent communicator who can step into a fast paced role and who enjoys supporting busy individuals.
  • We are looking for someone who is logical in their thinking and enjoys problem solving, working under pressure and is able to showcase their initiative. It is important that the post holder understands the core business objectives to ensure the right tasks are prioritised and the best support is provided.

Qualifications and experience

  • Knowledge management professional, preferred management consultancy experience
  • Graduate / post graduate qualifications

Knowledge Management Strategy

Act as the custodian of the company’s knowledge management system by:

  • Understanding the company’s service lines including the use of tools, methodologies, case studies, data, and articles to build a solid knowledge management system which can be easily communicated and utilized by staff
  • Reviewing, revising and implementing the company’s knowledge management strategy

Knowledge Management Processes

  • Developing the company’s knowledge management principles and embed into core business processes
  • Implementing efficient knowledge management tools and techniques to strengthen our knowledge base
  • Developing a comprehensive, easily searchable system which supports teams to find materials quickly
  • Simplifying file structures by developing a standardized approach to knowledge management which can be rolled out across the organisation
  • Providing relevant research materials and knowledge management support to deployed consultancy teams to enable effective delivery
  • Providing advice and guidance on using experts to enhance proposal and/or project development
  • Providing guidance on company’s compliance with Data Protection Legislation

Client Focus

  • Understanding and responds promptly to clients’ and/or team requirements
  • The ability to source relevant information and repackage for clients in a clear and concise way

Training and Development

  • Providing support and guidance to staff on knowledge management from induction through to facilitating regular knowledge management seminars
  • Providing knowledge management support during the whole project lifecycle (from project mobilization through to project closedown)
  • Developing and deliver the company’s knowledge management training agenda
  • Sharing experiences across teams on innovative approaches in knowledge sharing

Communications

  • Promotes collaboration between teams through the use of tools to facilitate sharing of ideas and work among internal teams and external clients

Attributes

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills honed in business partnering/advisory roles
  • Experience of dealing with senior and sometimes challenging individuals
  • Extensive research experience
  • Strong understanding of Data Protection Legislation
  • Understands ISO Quality Management systems
