Senior Library Assistant

Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Library Assistant in this large and active college library. Applicants should be educated to degree level; hold a postgraduate qualification in librarianship/information studies; have excellent IT and interpersonal skills and experience of working in an academic library.

The principal responsibility of the post is the maintenance and development of the library’s
image server and the supply of images from the collection of the library. Other duties include working at the busy Issue & Enquiry desk in the student library and staffing the reception and readers’ desks in the Wren Library. Responsibilities also include shelving, fetching library materials and various clerical duties.

Salary £20327 - £23566 pa. Additional benefits include a final salary pension scheme, noncontributory health insurance, and 33 days annual holidays (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
