Acquisitions and Serials Librarian

Job Description

The Institute of Education Library is looking for an effective, skilled and experienced librarian to lead its Acquisitions Team of four people based within the library’s Technical Services section. Acquisitions uses the Sirsidynix Symphony system to record transactions and is a user of EDI.

You will have extensive experience of both the monograph and serials aspects of the acquisitions process and a thorough understanding of issues which relate to this, including delivery of a full range of library materials in a variety of formats both physical and electronic.You will participate in developing and implementing an integrated and strategic approach to the management of the library’s technical services, providing key services and tools to support the library’s contribution to the IOE mission.

You will have a qualification in librarianship or information science and your substantial relevant library experience will include staff management.
