Project Manager (Digidol: Digital Literacy Project)
£38140 - £44166 per annum
You will be Project Manager for the externally-funded Digidol project. The aim of the project is to promote and develop digital literacy throughout Cardiff University.
You will work strategically and collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders from across the University and beyond to design, develop and implement new initiatives to progress development of the digital literacy of staff and students throughout the University. The project outcomes will act as a model for other HE institutions.
The Digidol project will establish an institution-wide, strategically-driven, systematic and sustainable approach for contextualising and embedding Digital Literacy into four core aspects of Cardiff’s educational provision:
• the development of academic staff;
• the development of undergraduate and postgraduate taught students (through curriculum design);
• the development of postgraduate research students;
• and the development of administrative, managerial and support staff.
The project will develop an exemplar organisational model for embedding Digital Literacy across courses and curricula which can be adapted and delivered across to other HEIs. The project will achieve organisational change within a large and complex institution; approached from the top-down (utilising the development of new University Strategies as the key driver) and from the bottom-up (building on our established expertise in contextualising and embedding Information Literacy). The project will include a comparative before and after analysis of the extent and suitability of digital literacy provision, a repository of learning materials, and post implementation review of the organisational change processes and the development of institutional thinking on Digital Literacy that will form a toolkit for use by other HEIs.
This post is full-time, fixed-term from 17 September 2012 until 30 April 2013 (maternity cover).
