Job Description

Job purpose

As part of the Library Services for Education team, to provide library support and advice to schools, academies and colleges in Leicestershire, Leicester City and others, to contribute to the successful trading of the service.

Main duties

Provide library services to a caseload of schools, including the compilation of loan resources and advisory work, to ensure continuing buyback of services

Select and maintain books and other resources, and the LSE catalogue, to maintain a collection that is relevant to schools and up-to-date

Contribute to the development and implementation of LSE’s marketing strategy to ensure continuing uptake of services

Assist with the planning, preparation and delivery of the INSET and Reader Development programmes to support the professional development of teachers and library staff

Contribute to a high level of customer care, to ensure that customers’ needs are met to the highest standard

Develop and maintain awareness of library developments, within a continually changing technological environment, to ensure that LSE remains a relevant, well-regarded service
