Saturday Services Delivery Information Assistant

£23,850 pa inc Inner London Weighting pro rata

7 hours per week, 48 weeks p.a.

Information and Knowledge Management at the Royal College of Nursing provides a modern, innovative UK-wide service.

We now seek an experienced Information Assistant for the Saturday Services Delivery team. You will spend approximately half of your time at the Library Reception Desk, working with visitors and telephone callers, in relation to circulation issues, and helping with their general enquiries, including ICT queries. This will include roving within the library space to lend assistance. You will also carry out other tasks related to the information services, including inter-library loans, postal loans, book repair and shelving.

Recent relevant library experience, including previous experience on a circulation desk, is essential. You should be educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent, with good communication and I.C.T. skills and experience of working with the public. Good team working skills, willingness to adapt to new ways of working and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a busy environment are indispensable.

This role is for 7 hours per week, for 48 weeks of the year (the library is closed on Saturday during August).

You will usually work 9am – 5pm, although occasionally you may be required to work 8.30am - 4.30pm or 9.30am - 5.30pm.
