This is an interesting role within our Information Centre. You’ll join a dedicated team which provides a comprehensive professional library and information service to all Bank of England staff. In this varied post, you’ll enjoy a rewarding mix of research and administrative duties.

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of serials’ provision on a day-to-day basis, you’ll manage procurement and circulation, and deal directly with suppliers. Carrying out desk research for all areas of the Bank, you’ll handle complex requests to tight deadlines and conduct regular searches of online news and company databases on behalf of customers. We’ll expect you to carry out a departmental liaison role to ensure services meet customer needs and also to participate in marketing initiatives and training events.

A qualified librarian, you will have relevant professional experience including desk research – ideally within a business environment. You’re a team player with good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels, both internally and externally. You’ll be required to demonstrate strong analytical skills and advanced internet searching skills, with the ability to exercise good judgement in the gathering, presentation and interpretation of data. Familiarity with major information databases such as Factiva, LexisNexis and EBSCOHOST, and knowledge of major economic reference sources is desirable.
