Book Aid International increases access to books to support literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa

Our Programmes and Operations Team is responsible for developing and implementing Book Aid International’s overseas projects and programmes; and for sourcing, sorting, selecting and delivering donated books to our partners overseas.

We are seeking an experienced person to manage the selection and shipping of books to partner libraries in Africa from the Book Aid International warehouse. Reporting to the Head of Programmes and Operations, the Operations Manager will be responsible for line management of staff and co-ordinating selection and delivery of books allocated to specific partners.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of managing staff and excellent planning and organisation skills, particularly within a library context; have a library qualification to degree level; be able to work flexibly and effectively with a wide range of people; and be willing to travel overseas. Experience in a technical services/library resource management department, project management and the ability to train others is desirable.
