Community Services Librarian (Fixed Term until 31 March 2013)

Bracknell Forest Library and Information Service

Salary £6,700 - £8,200 for 11.67 hours average per week, plus enhanced pay (time and a half) for Saturday work

An opportunity has arisen to join our team of professionally qualified Librarians in Bracknell Forest’s Library Service. You will be based at Bracknell Library, working principally on the Enquiry Desk in the Reference Library.

Your key responsibilities will be to answer customers’ enquiries, to assist customers with the use of ICT and electronic information resources, to help customers to source appropriate material, to order adult non-fiction stock, and to assist with collection management in the Borough’s 9 Libraries.

With excellent customer care and communications skills, you will be a professionally qualified Librarian. You must also enjoy working with a broad range of clientele, have strong IT skills, and an interest in collection development. Previous experience of working in a public library is desirable, but not essential.

The hours of work for this post are:

Friday 9.00am – 7.00pm

Saturday 9.00am – 1.00pm (two Saturdays out of three)
